The

Faid in cash. When I refunded the $55,000.00 the Directors ordered me to pay $7,000.00 so I took the 7,000.00 out of my pocket and paid the balance which was used to purchase the shares, The $7,000.00 was not paid by the Bank but paid by you on behalf of the Bank?. Yes, for which a receipt has been exhibited. I have a receipt for $10,000.00. That is muzmok quite correct. (inding Mr. Brewer Rhibit KK) ment you' referred to, or another?. That is the document.

Is that the docu-

This is the receipt of the transaction?. That is the receipt but the original was for $7,000.00. That isa combined receipt as I explained Where is the other receipt?.

That was KKK returned.

This is the first mention you have made of this compradore order. In your Public Examination you said :- (Public Examination read Page 27, 4th para-

aph} (Mr. Brewer was allowed to refer to a

Copy)

(Exhibit Al "Ledger" and Ex. 0 "Journal" referred

to).

It was paid?.

It was.

Not a word about you surrendering the compradore order to Mrs. Fewer at all.

I think if you will read that you will see that it is quite clear. If xxx I had not a cheque or compradore order, how could I pay it into my account?.

What was the date when you transferred to kirs. Brewer.

The date of my letter, my Lord.

28th May, is the date of the letters. (Continued reading Public Examination).

On the

1st of June, that does not seem quite correct as you have already transferred $55,000.00, there seems to be something wrong.

You are throwing at me a date to which I was not referring to, as a matter of fact it is three days out.

Which is the correct date?.

28th Kay.

The cash book entry is the 1st of June.

This cash book was not entered up by me, I can't

say whether it was put in three days late.

It is quite possibel that whatever took placo, did take place, I am not querrying that. It seems much more reasonable to me that the books should ehow the time after you have received the letter, when you did something.

I am quite prepared to accept it. It is in- material.

The only thing I am trying to get from you is, that you never said one xad thing about the com- pradore order before. (Continued reading Public

at maker $10,000,00 as to that receipt?. Yes.

Do you know whether lrs. Brewer actually drew $55,000.00 in actual cash from the Compradore?. I don't suppose she did. I don't ɑnow.

His Lordships

Mr. Fitzroy
